Toen Apple vorig jaar aankondigde dat telefoons met IOS ook gebruik kunnen maken van adblockers, was de online publisher wereld geschokt.<\/a><\/p>\n

Nu de online advertentie inkomsten al jaren aan het dalen zijn<\/a>, is het geen pretje meer om online content te cre\u00ebren. Tenminste, niet als u hoopt op compensatie voor uw werk. Adblockers zorgen niet voor een rooskleurige toekomst voor publishers, maar hoe erg is het daadwerkelijk?<\/p>\n

het 2017 Rapport<\/h2>\n

Pagefairs verslag duidt aan dat:<\/p>\n

11%<\/strong> van de wereldwijde internet populatie advertenties blokkeert op het web.<\/p>\n

Het gebruik van adblock groeide met 30%<\/strong> wereldwijd in 2016. Mobiele adblock maakte een groei van 108 miljoen<\/strong> waardoor het op 380<\/strong> miljoen<\/strong> apparaten in totaal uitkwam.<\/p>\n

Desktop adblock gebruik groeide met 34 miljoen<\/strong> en bereikte in totaal 236 miljoen<\/strong> apparaten.<\/p>\n

Het ziet er dus niet zo goed uit. Wat het nog erger maakt, is dat voornamelijk hoger geschoolde mensen die meer geld uitgeven vooral gebruik maken van adblock diensten. Onderzoek toont aan dat een blokkering tegen adblocker zeer schadelijk en averechts werkt. 74% van de Amerikaanse internetgebruikers verlaten websites die gebruik maken van een adblocker blokkering.<\/p>\n

Emarkeet voorspelt een toename van 25%<\/a> in 2017.<\/p>\n

De Toekomst?<\/h2>\n

Publishers moeten een andere manier vinden om betaald te krijgen voor de content die ze produceren. U ziet kranten, zoals bijvoorbeeld The Guardian, hun lezers smeken of ze weer een ouderwetse abonnement willen afnemen, omdat de advertentie inkomsten gewoonweg niet genoeg zijn om de kranten financieel te onderhouden.<\/p>\n
